Team Day Camps

Thank you to all of our team families for being patient as we work out the details for our Team Day Camps. We are pleased to announce that Team Day Camps will begin Tuesday, May 12th and will run through the end of May.

Our top priority is ensuring the safety of our students and staff.  Phase 1 of the reopening plan includes several changes from what you are accustomed to at Salem.  Please read the following carefully before coming to the gym so you know what to expect:

Physical Distancing: This is a primary focus for the entire time your child is in the gym!  For example, there will be marked spots/lines on the floor for gymnasts to warm-up and stand while waiting in-lines at events. Gymnasts will have their own beam which will be more than 6 feet apart; stations on vault and bars will be set apart to avoid any area for congregation.

Cubbies/Bags: Because they are an area of crowding, all cubbies have been removed from the gym. Athletes are required to bring a gym bag containing the following items: grips, braces, tape, small water bottle for bars, personal hand sanitizer, water bottle with tight lid. Clothes and shoes will go into the bag once they arrive at the gym.  Bags will be kept with them at all times and they will carry them from one event to the next.

Entry/Exit: Day Camp members are to enter through the main front door of the gym. Upon entering the gym, all persons will be screened. They will be asked a series of questions regarding their health and the health of family members in their household. Gymnasts will use hand sanitizer and will be directed to sit and wait on a dot on the red and blue floor which will be more than 6 feet from their teammates.

Water Fountains: Water Fountains will be closed; bring your own personal water bottle.

Parent Viewing: We are requesting that parents drop off their gymnast and remain in their car when possible. If a parent wishes to view camps they should watch from upstairs and practice current social distancing.

Cleaning and Sanitization: As a staff we will be cleaning and disinfecting the gym in between camps. We will disinfect mats, equipment, gates, and bathrooms. Hand sanitizer will be spread out throughout the gym and athletes will be required to use hand sanitizer between rotating from one event to the next.

Athlete’s Health: Please use discretion about your child’s health before sending them to camps. If your child or anyone in your family is sick in any regards, PLEASE DO NOT SEND your child to camp. We recommend for you to take your child’s temperature at home before arriving to the gym.

Tuition: March credits will be used to pay for May Day Camp. If your child does not attend Day Camp, the credit is forfeited.  Full monthly tuition for team resumes June 1, 2020.

Check your e-mail for camp schedules.
