Salem Tumbling Class Policies
Welcome to Salem Gymnastics & Swim! Our goal is to offer the finest children’s programming in the area and make your child’s time at Salem be the highlight of their growing years!
Please arrive early enough to prepare for class by using the restroom, placing shoes and socks into a cubby, and waiting by the gate for class to begin. Students are not allowed out onto the floor until their instructor welcomes them through the gate.
Parents must supervise their children before and after their class. Please do not allow your child onto the gym floor until the instructor is ready to begin their class. Do not allow them to re-enter after their class has ended.
Parents are not required to, but are welcome to stay and observe classes. However, safety is a concern for those children who constantly “look” for mom or dad to watch them. It distracts from their concentration as well as the concentration of the rest of the class. For this reason, we ask that you observe classes from our balcony.
Girls are to wear a leotard to every class. They may wear pull-on shorts and/or a t-shirt over the top of their leotard if they wish. Boys should wear a t-shirt tucked into pull-on shorts. No buckles or zippers, please. Bare feet are required. Long hair must be tied up off the shoulders (we recommend two side ponytails, as a back ponytail makes learning rolls painful). No bare midriffs allowed.
At the end of class students are dismissed from the gate they entered. Please park your car and come inside to pick up your children. If you do not pick up your child within 5 minutes of the last class of the day, you will be subject to a $5.00 supervision charge. Children are not allowed outside the building without adult supervision.
The best way for your child to learn is through consistency, attending class on a regular basis with the same instructor and classmates. However we recognize that children do get sick and we do not want their illness in the pool! For this reason, we offer make-up lessons on a limited basis.
Make ups are limited to one per month, per class. If you are enrolled in two classes per week you may have one make-up for each class. They must be taken within 30 days of your missed class after a class is missed, not before the fact. You may make up your missed class in any other class that is the same level, provided there are openings available. If there is not an opening available, then unfortunately a make-up lesson is not available.
Make-up classes are not guaranteed. We do not adjust tuition for missed classes, and make ups cannot be taken after a student is dropped from the program.
To schedule a make-up, please look online to find a class with an opening that you would like to make-up in. Call the Front Office to schedule your make-up no more than 24 hours in advance.
No jewelry or gum is allowed. We are not responsible for any items left in the gym, however we do have a Lost and Found.
NO GUM, SMOKING, OR PETS ALLOWED INSIDE THE BUILDING.
If, at any time, you have questions regarding our policies please get in touch with us so we can address your specific questions.
